Well done to the St. James’ U-15 team and management. The Jimmies defeated city rivals St. Michaels in the opening round of the A County Championship and had another very good win over Barna in the second round. The Jimmies are on top of the table with remaining games against Salthill, Moycullen and Claregalway. On Friday evening the St. James’ senior mens team defeated Oranmore-Maree in the opening round of the John Dunne cup. In addition, congratulations are extended to the Tribesmen on a hard fought win last weekend in Castlebar. Furthermore, a super morning was had by all at St. James on Saturday. Both boy’s and girls clubs attended the official opening of the Credit Union in Mervue. Everybody at the club enjoyed this occasion and many thanks to Phil Grealish and the other board members who put in enormous effort in making this morning a success. All the players and mentors got to meet county ace and club legend Paul Conroy. Paul officially cut the ribbon and opened the Credit Union. The St. James’ U-12 girls continued winning ways when they overcame Kilcony last weekend. The have won all of their games in their respective division and will face Ballinasloe in the final league game next weekend. Finally, the St.James’ senior ladies team were narrowly defeated to Dunmore 2-11 to 2-8. This game was an evenly contested match and James’ just fell short in the end.
