It was a busy weekend for the St. James’ club. On Friday the St. James’ U-13 boy’s team defeated Oughterard in the second round of the county league. This game was played in Renmore and James’ edged out their opponents by a single goal. This game was an even contest and the football on display was very good to say the least. Furthermore, congratulations are extended to the management and team on this victory. On Saturday morning the Jimmies welcomed Kilannin G.A.A. to Mervue for an U-8 & U-10 Academy blitz. There was up to 150 children playing Gaelic games in a fun, friendly and safe environment. The club would like to thanks everyone that helped out on the morning and supported Galway’s future stars. The tribesmen had an excellent win over Sligo on Sunday in Pearse Stadium. Congratulations are extended to the Galway team and management on this win. The club would like to recognize the achievements of club players on the county team, Paul Conroy and Johnny Duane. The St. James’ U-12 girls team were in action on Monday evening against An Cheathru Rua/Carraroe the County A League Quarter Final. The jimmies had a very good win and as a result they have qualified for the county semi-final. Also on Monday, the senior mens team defeated city rivals St. Michael’s 1-13 to 0-13 in the second round of the John Dunne cup. Well done to everyone involved on this victory.
