A Round up of the Weekends games at St. James’ G.A.A. Galway

Having defeated Oranmore-Maree in the opening round of the John Dunne Cup (2-15 to 3-8). Terry O’Regans senior side traveled to Monivea on Saturday to take on Monivea Abbey in the second round of the John Dunne cup. The Jimmies made it two wins from two and the final score resulted St. James’ 1-16 Monivea Abbey 1-10. Meanwhile the James’ minors opened their league campaign at home to Killanin on Saturday morning. The Jimmies were trailing by two points at half-time but failed to captalise in the second half. Nevertheless, James’ worked really hard and performed well considering this was their first match of the year and session in day light. The final score resulted St. James 1-7 Killanin 2-11. In addition, the James’ girls U-16 team played their first challenge of the season in Renmore on Saturday afternoon. The Jimmies hosted loughrea and this was a well contested game of football. Meanwhile both U-13/14 and U-15/16 squads are training hard and preparing well for their seasons ahead. The club looks forward to the games commencing at the end of the month for these age groups. The U-12 team will be starting back training next week and are looking forward to both the City Leagues and County championship. Furthermore, The James’ Academy (U-6/8/10) will start back on Saturday March 25th @11:30am in Mervue. Finally, the girls and boy’s clubs will be marching together in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and all at the club are looking forward to this event.
