There was a lot of club activity on an off the field in St. James’. The U-16s boys team played out an excellent game on Tuesday and narrowly lost to Moycullen in the championship. In addition, the minors overcame St. Michaels on Thursday in preparation for championship which commences in August. Furthermore, on Friday the U-14s had a comprehensive win over Annaghdown in the A Championship which was played in Cregg. On Saturday our senior team had an impressive victory in the Senior League Division 1. The Jimmies defeated Killannin 4-11 to 0-14 in Mervue. The St. James’ senior ladies team were invited by the NUI Galway ladies football club to compete in a tournament on Saturday. The Jimmies played against, NUI Galway, Moycullen, Corofin and Claregalway. A great day was had by all who attended this football festival. Well done is extended to all the teams and management who were out in action this week. Off the field of play the club hosted a very successful Pitch & Putt fundraising event. The club would like to everyone who supported this fundraiser and many thanks to our club sponsors for contributing to yet another fundraiser.
