On Saturday morning the Jimmies welcomed Moycullen to Mervue. Up to 100 U-8s competed in Go-Games and a great morning was had by all. The club would like to thank everyone who took part and supported Galway’s future football stars. Well done to the Galway U-16 team and management that defeated Mayo, Sligo, Galway North and Letirim in the Connacht Teb Webb cup this weekend. The Galway City/West team have qualified for the final as a result of these victories. They will face Mayo in the final next Friday. All at the club would like to wish manager Alan Gylnn and his management team the very best of luck. In addition, we at St. James’ a very proud to have 3 representatives on the team. Well done to Daniel McNulty, Eoin Finnerty and Ian Casserly. Meanwhile the James’ ladies had a convincing win on Saturday night when they defeated Milltown in the opening round of the Championship. This was a well earned victory and manager Patrick O’Connor and selector Sean Fanning can be very happy with the teams performance and can look for the next outing vs Clonbur in 2 weeks time. It was a case of hard luck for the girls U12B team in Oranmore on Saturday afternoon. The was home side who emerged winners from this tie and as a result of this defeat the Jimmies will play in a shield semi final in the coming two weeks.
