The St. James’ senior and juvenile AGM took place recently and both meetings were well attended and successful. Club President Martin Crowley opened both meetings with a formal address. In the senior AGM Jimmy Newell was reinstated as chairman. The remaining executive officers were too re-elected and among these was Tony Hanley Treasurer and Secretary Pat Burke. Other positions that were fulfilled was Cultural Officer Jim Cotter, PRO David Henry, Register Peter Bennett and Delegate Shane Forde.

In the Juvenile AGM David Henry was re-elected as chairman for the 5th year in a row. Alongside him elected was Denise Shaughnessy Secretary and Matt Harte Treasurer. Shane Igo took on the role as Children’s Officer and Ryan O’Toole was ratified as National School Officer. A comprehensive report was drafted for the juvenile agm by David Henry and Denise Shaughnessy. Lots of discussion and debate followed at both agms and one can look forward to 2020 as we celebrate our 25th year as a club on and off the playing field. Other sub committees formed on the night were a social media team including Louise McNamara, Denise Shaughnessy, Daire Crowe, Joe McCarthy and David Henry. A fundraising committee was also established on the evening.

St. James’ will be hosting their third Annual Football event in memory of all deceased club members on St. Stephen’s Day 26th December. Shake off the Cabin Fever of Christmas and join us on St. Stephen’s Day in Renmore. All minor, U20, Junior & senior Mens and Ladies can play on morning. Coaches, Former players and supporters can also play To register for this year’s tournament, one must contact David Henry 087-4311905 or Terry O’Regan 086-1956974. Please r egister ASAP!The tournament will commence @11am Sharp. Teams will assemble in Renmore at 10:30am

Our Annual Christmas Bag Packing Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, the 22nd, and Monday, the 23rd of December at Dunnes Stores Briarhill between 9am and 8pm. We are calling on all members of the club (players, parents, supporters and committee members) to help out on the days. We are hoping that you can do a 2 hour time slot at your convenience but any spare time you may have would also be much appreciated! MEET SANTA this Saturday December 14th at the St. James’ GAA Clubhouse in Mervue from 11am to 1pm. Everyone will get the chance to meet Santa and receive a gift for Christmas. In addition, the club shop will be open and one can purchase official club merchandise on the morning. We look forward to seeing ye all on the morning
