St. James’ have recently appointed Ryan O’Toole as the National School Coach for 2019/20 school semester. O’Toole was captain of the james’ minor team that won the Championship West board title in 2018 and he is also a member of the current senior team. We wish him well in his new role this year.

The Jimmies secured another excellent on Fiday night in the County U-14 Championship ‘B’ semi-final. James’ defeated Carraroe in connemara and this result has qualified them to the county final. This was excellent team performance from the Jimmies and well done to all the players, management and supporters that made the journey west

Our U9 teams traveled to Tuam Stars on Saturday morning for Go-Games. The Jimmies had three teams that lined out against the stars. Well done to all the players, coaches and supporters that made the journey. The U10s will host Claregalway in Mervue next Saturday morning @11:30am, while the U-6s will play their first ever match against Oranmore-Maree and Loughrea in Mervue at 10:30am.

The U-16 team were defeated by Moycullen in the championship ‘A’ shield quarter-final last week in Moycullen. In addition, the U-12s also suffered another defeat in the City ‘A’ league to Claregalway in Knockdoemore.

The senior team take on Barna this Saturday in a must game for the club. The Jimmies will face relegation if they fail to win. The game is on in Tuam Stadium this Saturday @5:30pm. The club encourage all supporters to make the journey and cheer on the team.

The club are asking all members to purchase a ticket as part of our main fundraiser “Night at the Dogs” on Saturday September 21st @7pm in the Galway Greyhound track and a ticket is 20 euro. Minors are free admission on the night. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased from the St. James’ clubhouse in Mervue and the Merlin Bar. Top prize to be won is 1 thousand euro. It is promising to be a great night and the club look forward to seeing everyone on the night.
