Last week, the club hosted the biggest camp in Connacht for the third year in-a-row. 300 children attended this year’s Kellogg’s Cúl Camp in Mervue. An excellent week was had by all and there was a number of activities in which boy’s and girls participated. The camp had a number of people helping out to make this camp run smoothly.
The camp had leaders in Tim Murphy (Club CDO), Aishling Carroll (School’s Coach), Olga Concar Murphy (Senior Chairperson), Irene Murphy (Ladies Children’s Officer and Dave Henry (Juvenile Chairman). In total, the club had 70 staff and they included; helpers, assistant coaches and head coaches. All of these people were club members too.

In addition, there was a team to set up goals, put out the flags/signs, assemble gazebos and not what. A special mention goes to the former chairman of the juvenile club, Martin Concannon for getting up every morning at 5am to set up. Children attending the camp knew where to be in advance as the pitches were well sign posted for parents. Furthermore, there was a first aid station were people were attended too.

Our social media team gave daily updates on the camp and posted images on all social media platforms. These publications were shared by Galway GAA. Thanks to Peter Fealy who visited the camp and he took a number shots from the sky with a drone.

The club would like to thank everyone once again and we look forward to other juvenile events before the summer concludes. The Darragh Frain Memorial Tournament takes place in August and is in it’s 8th year. Details on this will be announced in the coming 2 weeks.
