The public has voted Galway’s Paul Conroy the GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.

The powerful attacker received 3,838 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Leitrim’s Keith Beirne (2,647), and Peter Nash (2,143).

Paul Conroy (Galway)

Paul Conroy’s early-season form for Galway has been exceptional and he was their main man again in their Allianz Football League Division 2 victory over Down. He scored 1-2 from play in the opening 15 minutes of the match to give them the perfect start and then drove them on from there.

Keith Beirne (Leitrim)

Keith Beirne was the main man for Leitrim as they won their first senior inter-county match since March 2020 by defeating Tipperary in Semple Stadium. Beirne top-scored with eight points, three of them from play, and was the focal point in the Leitrim attack much of their best attacking play was funnelled through.

Peter Nash (Limerick)

Peter Nash excelled as an in-form Limerick made it two wins from two in Division Three with a victory over Antrim. Flying wing-forward, Nash, created a goal for Cian Sheehan after just two minutes, scored one himself eight minutes later, and finished with a personal tally of 1-2 from play.
